Samsung has officially announced the i900 as the Omnia. This will come in 16GB and 8GB versions, while the rest of the specs remain the same for both. The 16GB version will first be available at $1,098 and those interested will be able to buy one right after CommunicAsia on June 17 from stores and operators. From the images provided by Samsung, the Omnia will come with the widget interface which we have seen in other devices like the Samsung SGH-F480. The difference is that this will be the company's first Windows Mobile phone to sport it.

Well, Sony Ericsson have been covering this one up until now. Their uber cameraphone is finally in the wild with all the sweet details. The Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot codenamed Shiho is an 8 megapixel shooter and believe us when we saw this - this one is not a mock up, we've seen it live with our very own eyes. The Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot packs auto focus (but you already knew that), face detection, image stabilization and both a xenon and a photo flash (this one's for video), as well as a nice new feature called Smart Contrast.

The C905 photos can be geotagged thanks to the built-in GPS receiver. The accelerometer will allow for screen auto rotation when you go through your camera album. It's also got a TV-out port for watching your images on the TV. The Sony Ericsson C905 is also armed with a 2.4-inch QVGA TFT display with scratch-resistant mineral glass cover. It's the first Sony Ericsson feature phone to feature Wi-Fi support - and there's even more. The Wi-Fi feature supports DLNA, which is basically a wireless media sharing protocol that runs on top of Wi-Fi. Nokia N96 has it too by the way. The Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot is somewhere in the line of 104 x 49 x 18 (or 19.5) millimetres and weighs good 136 grams. It'll be available in Copper Gold, Ice Silver & Night Black in early Q4 2008 with a bundled 2 GB Memory Stick Micro M2. Connectivity wise, it comes in three variants, two with full support for UMTS and HSDPA for the respective regions (yes, the Americas too). The battery is good for 380 hours of standby or 9 hours of talk on GSM networks, or 360 hours of standby or 4 hours of talk on 3G networks.

As Samsung happens to be the official Worldwide Partner in wireless communications equipment of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the company said that the P318 handset will be made from special 18-carat gold.

According to Samsung spokeswoman Lee Soo-jeong, “This is going to be strictly sold and launched to the Chinese market. It’s basically a phone to commemorate and celebrate the Beijing Olympics.

The company has said that the P318 mobile phone will be a sleek-looking one which is mostly deep black in color, with the gold placed in the trim along the sides and covering the bottom half of the phone’s back.

The P318 handset is expected to include such features like a camera, Bluetooth and MP3 player.

The P318 mobile phone will surely draw the attention of all those who love anything with a dash of bling in it. However, according to the company, this phone will exclusively be available in China.

If you compare the Samsung P310 handset with this one, you could arrive at the conclusion that the P318 is just a classier looking version of the same.

Samsung has yet to decide the price and launch date for the P318 gold-plated mobile phone. This phone will surely appeal to the affluent Chinese folks.

Sony Ericsson today introduced two new HSDPA phones into its line-up. The Z780 expands the company’s range of devices for markets outside of Europe and the compact G502 brings the power of the web to a mainstream audience.

“These two phones are quite distinct, yet both have the potential to introduce more users to the world of web on your mobile,” said Martin Winkler, director of global marketing and head of multimedia web at Sony Ericsson. “Being able to check your email whenever you like or surf the web when on-the-move should not just be the preserve of professionals. The Z780, a sister product to the recently announced Z770, is set to broaden the range of web-enabled phones into more markets across the globe. It also introduces built-in aGPS, giving users the opportunity to carry their navigation solution with them on their phone.

The G502 is the first such model, however, to feature high-speed HSDPA capability.
